That's exactly what our Dembe does. When we needed a name for the AI presence that powers everything at Champlin Enterprises, there was only one choice.
But the name runs even deeper than fiction. Dembe is a predominantly Ugandan name from the Luganda language — unisex — that directly translates to “peace” or “tranquility.” It signifies harmony, calmness, and is often given with the hope that the child will bring peace and stability to their family and community. Widely used across East Africa, it carries a weight that felt right for what we were building.
