About
Engineering software
since 1998.
Senior engineering on every line. Twenty-eight years of hands-on experience. Products, hosting, and custom builds.
Senior hands,
full spectrum.
Kevin Champlin started writing production code in 1998. The web was young. Most businesses didn’t have a website. He’s been engineering software through every era since — the dot-com boom, the mobile revolution, the cloud migration, and now the AI transformation.
Champlin Enterprises puts that experience to work across the whole stack of what a modern software company does — custom applications and AI for clients, a growing line of our own SaaS products, vertical tools for industries the big vendors overlook, and managed hosting that comes with real engineering. No office full of junior developers. No layers of project managers between you and the person writing the code. You get senior engineering, directly.
Same senior hands build all of it — products and client work alike. That’s the standard, whether you’re hiring us for a custom build, running on our hosting, or using one of our products. No assembly lines. No shortcuts. No one else to blame.

Our mission
Engineer software our clients can build a business on — and serve the few people who trust us with that the way we'd want to be served. Fewer clients. Deeper care. Work that's still standing years later.
What we stand for
We build the way we'd want it
built for us.
The standard doesn't change with the size of the client — a Fortune 500 and the shop down the street get the same care. These are the principles behind it.
Our word is the whole contract.
The one-page scope isn’t a sales tactic — it’s a promise. We do what we said, by the date we said it. If something slips, you hear it from us first, never in a surprise invoice.
A higher standard than the invoice.
We’d rather lose the work than ship something we wouldn’t put our own name on. The code carries our name because it carries our character.
Your business, stewarded like our own.
We spend your budget the way we’d spend ours — and we’ll tell you when the right answer is to spend less. Trust is the one thing we can’t rebuild.
People before transactions.
Clients known by name, served for years. We’re building relationships, not a pipeline — the kind of partner who’s still there in five years.
Built to outlast us.
You own everything we make — the code, the systems, the keys. No lock-in, no dependence on us. We measure the work by how well it serves you long after we’re gone.
Quiet excellence over loud promises.
No hype, no theater, no manufactured urgency. We let the work speak — and we do it right even when no one is watching, because that’s the only way worth doing it.
“He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.”
How the work gets checked
Seven review passes. Every engagement.
One engineer writes the code. Before it ships, it goes through seven dedicated review passes — each one focused on a single dimension of quality. It's how a solo engineer delivers at the standard a Fortune 500 would expect from a team.
Security pass
Auth, injection, CSRF, secrets handling
Performance pass
Database queries, N+1, cache strategy
UI/UX pass
Accessibility, consistency, mobile
QA pass
Error handling, validation, edge cases
Architecture pass
Dead code, DRY, tech debt
DevOps pass
Deploy, headers, logging, infra
Speed pass
Render path, fonts, compression

Want to see if we're a fit before any commitment?
Thirty minutes on Zoom is usually enough to know. The Free AI Opportunity Audit is exactly that — three concrete places AI quietly pays for itself in your business, a one-page plan emailed within 48 hours. No pitch. No follow-up sequence. You keep the plan whether or not we ever work together.
Let's build something.
A real problem. A real budget. A bias toward shipping. Start with a 30-minute audit — no pitch, no follow-up sequence.
30-minute call. One-page plan emailed within 48 hours. No pitch deck.
